International Mountain Book Fair – Passy
From August 7 to 9, 2026, Passy welcomes the 36th edition of the International Mountain Book Fair, one of the major cultural events of the summer in Haute-Savoie. Located on the Parvis des Fiz, opposite the Mont-Blanc massif, the event brings together authors, illustrators, adventurers, and mountain enthusiasts.

This year, the fair will highlight the theme of “living landscapes”. On the agenda: meetings with authors, comic strips, round tables, exhibitions, film screenings, and numerous activities for all audiences.

17th Zik’en Ville Festival – La Roche sur Foron
Every summer, Zik’en Ville transforms the squares and streets of La Roche-sur-Foron into genuine open-air stages. Rock, jazz, chanson, world music, or family shows: the program is eclectic in order to appeal to a wide audience, from music lovers to simple passersby.
On Friday, August 7, 2026, the festival will welcome Le Cirque Pepin with its show C’est peut-être…, a poetic and musical creation accessible to all.
The show tells the story of a character who has never left their universe and feels no need to discover the world. Their encounter with a passionate traveler, searching for sounds from all over the world, will shake their certainties. Marlens Pond Festival – Marlens
On Saturday, August 8, 2026, the pond of Marlens, in Val de Chaise, will be the setting for a big day of festivities open to all. In a particularly pleasant natural setting, residents and visitors will be able to enjoy activities, a popular ball, refreshment stalls, and a spectacular fireworks display to close the evening.
The festivities will start in the afternoon with the Black Pearl Challenge, a friendly event that will gather crews around various competitions. After the awards ceremony, the party will continue in the evening in a warm atmosphere by the water, before the traditional fireworks.

Hauts-Forts Trail Morzine Avoriaz
On Saturday, August 8, 2026, the Hauts-Forts Trail returns to Morzine-Avoriaz for its 19th edition. This unmissable mountain trail event offers four courses in the heart of the spectacular landscapes of the Portes du Soleil.
Participants can choose between the Hauts-Forts Trail (50 km), the Fornet Trail (40 km), the Gold Mines Trail (23 km) or the Smugglers’ Relays (22 and 28 km). All events are registered in the ITRA calendar and allow runners to earn qualifying points for the UTMB World Series.

Lumberjack Festival – La Chapelle-d’Abondance
On Sunday, August 9, 2026, La Chapelle-d’Abondance celebrates woodwork and mountain craftsmanship at its traditional Wood Festival. This friendly day highlights artisanal trades, local traditions, and spectacular demonstrations, with numerous activities for the whole family.
One of the highlights of the day will be the lumberjack competition, which starts at 3:00 pm. Participants will compete in three events combining strength, precision, and technique, before a grand final scheduled around 5:00 pm.
Visitors can also attend wood carving demonstrations, discover an artisan exhibition, participate in workshops introducing leatherwork and leather goods, as well as enjoy creative workshops and a raffle.
