Sunday, August 23, 2026, will host the 48th edition of the Belle Dimanche in the Châtel resort, at Plaine Dranse.
La Belle Dimanche is among the oldest and most deeply rooted festivals in the traditional Savoyard heritage.
For the great pleasure of everyone, it honors the shepherds and their flocks as well as traditional craftsmanship.

The festival will begin with an outdoor mass with the blessing of the Belle Dimanche bread from the bakery Les Fournils du Lac.
Throughout the day, you can stroll among the various stands where diverse artisans present their works: paintings and wood sculptures, bell founders, natural and handmade products, decorative objects, pottery, jewelry, etc.
The Châtel associations will also offer games, activities, as well as refreshment stands where you can eat and drink.
The musical entertainment will be provided by several local groups performing at different spots throughout the festival all day long: folk groups, Alpine horns, brass bands, and much more…

And for those who would like to take home a small souvenir bearing the symbol of the festival, a shop awaits you at the Welcome – Information point.
Access to the festival is on foot, by shuttle, or with the Pierre Longue chairlift. Cars are strictly prohibited.
Throughout the day, shuttles make the journey from the village of Châtel to Pré la Joux, then from Pré la Joux to Plaine-Dranse, from 8:30 am to 7:30 pm. A third shuttle connects Plaine Dranse and Bassachaux.
The Pré la Joux chairlift will be exceptionally open that day but accessible only to mountain bikers.
