On Saturday, September 19, 2026, Le Grand-Bornand will host the traditional Saint-Maurice Agricultural Fair, one of the last major agro-pastoral events of the year in Haute-Savoie. A true institution in the Aravis valley, this event honors breeders, local producers, and the famous farm Reblochon. Each year, breeders, farmers, and artisans gather in the Church Square to share their expertise with the public. The event attracts both locals and visitors eager to discover the agricultural wealth of the Aravis in an authentic and friendly atmosphere.
The finest cows of the Aravis in competition
The highlight of the day remains the great cattle contest, held from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m..
The finest cows from local farms parade before a jury that evaluates their morphology, general condition, and breeding qualities. For visitors, it is a unique opportunity to get close to the emblematic Alpine breeds and better understand the daily work of mountain breeders.
At the same time, a Reblochon contest will highlight the know-how of farm producers, whose cheeses are renowned far beyond the borders of Haute-Savoie.
Local flavors and regional products
Throughout the day, visitors can stroll among the stands set up in the heart of the village.
Farm cheeses, artisanal charcuterie, mountain honey, jams, pastries, and other Savoyard specialties will be offered for tasting and sale. Several local associations will also have stands where homemade crepes, fritters, and pastries will be prepared.
A convivial meal will be served on site, allowing guests to extend this immersion in Aravis gastronomy.
Flea market, entertainment, and breeders’ evening
In addition to the agricultural fair, the day will be animated by a flea market set up in the village, offering bargain hunters many finds.
Starting from 8:30 p.m., the traditional breeders’ evening will close the event in a festive atmosphere. Participants can attend the award ceremony of the contests before enjoying musical entertainment, continuing the spirit of friendliness that characterizes this great agricultural celebration.
