The Abbey of Abondance is about to come alive to the rhythm of classical music with the return of the festival “Du Vent dans l’Abbaye”, organized by the association La Bise des Vents. After a remarkable first edition, this cultural event returns with a new program combining heritage, chamber music, and immersive experiences in the heart of one of the most beautiful historical sites of Chablais.
For several days, spectators will be able to discover concerts in emblematic locations of Haute-Savoie, with a special focus on the Abbey of Abondance, whose cloister and church will offer an exceptional setting for the invited artists.
A refined program between music and heritage
The festival will open with a musical stroll within the Abbey of Abondance. This original format will allow the public to discover the riches of the monument while enjoying musical performances close to the artists.
Among the highlights announced is also the concert “Quintet, strings and winds”, which will showcase the works of Joseph Haydn and his contemporaries. Flute, clarinet, and string instruments will converse in the majestic setting of the abbey’s cloister for an evening marked by musical elegance.
The audience can also embark on a journey through time with “L’Abbaye d’Abondance, so Versailles!”, a concert inspired by the splendors of the 18th century. Violin, flute, viola da gamba, and theorbo will revive the atmosphere of grand Versailles evenings through a program of dances and baroque airs.
A cultural event that settles in the Haute-Savoie landscape
Led by the association La Bise des Vents and its artistic director Marguerite Neves, the festival aims to make classical music accessible to all while promoting local heritage. The organizers offer deliberately affordable prices to allow as many people as possible to discover these concerts in exceptional venues.
