On Saturday, August 1, 2026, Geneva will celebrate the Swiss National Day in a friendly and festive atmosphere. Less than an hour’s drive from Haute-Savoie, La Grange Park will host a full day of free activities combining Swiss traditions, concerts, shows, and family activities. A great outing idea to enjoy the national holiday of our Swiss neighbors.
A day of celebration at La Grange Park
As every year, La Grange Park will become the heart of Geneva’s festivities. From 3 p.m. until midnight, visitors will be able to enjoy a varied program designed for all ages.
The day will highlight Swiss traditions with folk activities, demonstrations, children’s areas, as well as numerous catering stalls offering local specialties. Entrance is completely free, allowing everyone to discover the atmosphere of this great popular celebration.
Concerts and activities will enliven the evening
Music will take center stage throughout the event. Several groups and artists will follow one another on stage to offer an eclectic program, mixing contemporary music and more traditional sounds.
At nightfall, the atmosphere will continue with shows and DJ sets, before the traditional bonfire, an essential symbol of Swiss National Day.
No official fireworks this year
Unlike some Swiss municipalities, Geneva will not offer an official fireworks display for this 2026 edition. The City prefers a program more focused on cultural activities, concerts, and traditions, while keeping the bonfire which remains one of the highlights of the evening.

An outing idea just steps from Haute-Savoie
Easily accessible from Annemasse, Saint-Julien-en-Genevois, Annecy, or even Thonon-les-Bains, Geneva is an ideal destination for a day trip.
For inhabitants of Haute-Savoie who want to avoid the crowds of some major summer events while enjoying a festive atmosphere, this celebration offers a great opportunity to discover Swiss traditions in an exceptional setting, between lake and large wooded parks.
