As every year, Haute-Savoie lights up with a thousand lights on July 14th to celebrate the National Day: small mountain villages and lakeside towns compete in ingenuity to offer the public fireworks displays and friendly entertainment.

July 14th Fireworks in Annecy, the Savoyard Prefecture

Fireworks show launched from the Pâquier, facing Lake Annecy, Monday July 14th from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. (free).
2025 Theme: “Ode to the Moon,” designed by Arteventia, the same company behind the July 14th, 2024 fireworks in Annecy.
Daytime activities: from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., workshops and shows for children in the Jardins de l’Europe; from 6 p.m. on, ball and concert by the group Mirage on the Pâquier before the fireworks.

Fireworks at Évian-les-Bains, on the shores of Lake Geneva

Fireworks Monday July 14th at 10:30 p.m. from the quai Baron de Blonay (free).
Cruise option: boarding at 8:45 p.m. on the boat “La Savoie” (€40) to admire the show on the water, accompanied by a traditional Latin sailboat.

July 14th Fireworks in Samoëns, Mountain Resort

Gathering Monday July 14th at 8 p.m. in the town center and the leisure base of Lac aux Dames.
Program: municipal band (8 p.m.), concert by the group Alkabaya (9 p.m.), fireworks (10:30 p.m.) followed by a DJ set.

Meet up Sunday July 13th from 8:30 p.m. at the port for musical entertainment and refreshment stand.

Beyond these major events, many other towns — Annemasse, Cluses, Bonneville, etc. — also offer fireworks and popular dances, contributing to the festive atmosphere that fills the entire department every July 14th.

  • Combloux: from 8 p.m. (refreshment stand and light catering on site). Lantern parade in the village led by the Combloux Battery Band around 9 p.m. Lantern sales on site. Traditional fireworks to be seen from the town hall square (10:30 p.m.). Free open-air ball with Pascal Popelier!
  • Douvaine: from 7 p.m., musical and light show, torchlight procession and fireworks, followed by a concert.
  • La Clusaz: Come dance in the mountains! There is no National Day without the legendary firefighters’ ball! Tradition has it that the ball takes place every July 13th, bringing together residents and holidaymakers in a popular, friendly guinguette atmosphere! Fireworks at 10 p.m.
  • La Roche-sur-Foron: 3 free concerts from 7:15 p.m. + fireworks at 10:30 p.m.
  • Le Grand Bornand – Chinaillon: Free activities (inflatable structures, giant wooden games, etc.), concerts, followed by fireworks. Refreshment stands and light catering on site. Program:
    • 4 p.m.: inflatable structures, giant wooden games, open access,
    • 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.: face painting workshop (price: €5),
    • 7:30 p.m.: concert by the Grand-Bornand Harmonie Orchestra,
    • 8:30 p.m.: concert by the group “Génération Y – Flip your brain”,
    • 10:20 p.m.: fireworks, followed by a DJ party.
  • Margencel: Lantern parade at 10 p.m., animated by La Brise du Léman, fireworks from 10:30 p.m., followed by a dance party hosted by a DJ. Refreshment stand and catering on site.
  • Messery: from 7:30 p.m., lantern parade, fireworks followed by a ball. Light catering all evening.
  • Morillon: Meeting from 9 p.m. on the banks of the blue lake to admire the fireworks and dance to the concert by Woody Alien!
  • Nernier: Meet at the port for a festive evening: refreshment stand and catering, lantern parade, fireworks offered by the town followed by a ball with DJ.
  • Sciez-sur-Léman: Meeting from 8:30 p.m. at the port for a festive program: musical entertainment, fireworks at 10 p.m. followed by the firefighters’ ball. Refreshment stand and light catering from 3 p.m.
  • Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval: Meet at 9 p.m. at the train station square to parade with the Municipal Band to the Abbey Gardens where the traditional fireworks (10 p.m.) and popular ball (10:30 p.m.) will take place!
  • Thollon-les-Mémises: The town of Thollon invites you to celebrate the National Day in a festive and family atmosphere! From 8:30 p.m.

Monday July 14th:

  • Châtel: To celebrate the national day, a grand fireworks show is offered to you at Lake Vonnes at 10:15 p.m., followed by a ball in the church square.
  • Talloires: A magical fireworks display will light up the bay at nightfall. On site, refreshment stand and snack bar run by the Talloires Nautical Club and musical entertainment.
  • Yvoire: Lantern parade and fireworks followed by a ball.

Practical advice

  • Favor public transport or carpooling: many towns close parking lots near the city center.
