Winter is approaching and with it, the season of great deals in the mountains. Every autumn in Haute-Savoie, ski fairs attract families, students, and skiing enthusiasts looking for quality equipment at affordable prices. Skis, snowboards, boots, helmets, or technical clothing: these events are the perfect opportunity to gear up without emptying your wallet. And, let’s be honest, there is always that little pleasure of finding a nearly new pair for just a few dozen euros…
What is a ski fair?
A ski fair is first and foremost a temporary market where individuals, sports associations, and sometimes even specialized stores offer used sliding equipment. You can find alpine skis, snowboards, boots, but also poles, helmets, gloves or jackets. The idea is simple: to give a second life to equipment still in good condition, at prices much more affordable than new ones. For some, it is an opportunity to renew their equipment each season; for others, a first entry into the mountain world without breaking the bank. The atmosphere is friendly, almost festive, often with advice given by instructors or passionate volunteers.
Why participate in a 2025 ski fair in Haute-Savoie?
Ski fairs are must-attend events for winter sports enthusiasts and for those looking to equip themselves at a lower cost. In Haute-Savoie, where sliding sports are a true institution, several municipalities organize ski fairs to enable residents and visitors to buy or sell new or used equipment. In addition to offering the possibility to acquire quality equipment at a lower cost, it’s also an opportunity to meet mountain and sliding enthusiasts.

Verchaix
- Date : September 27 and 28, 2025
- Location : Verchaix Multipurpose Hall
- Description : Probably the first ski fair of the season in Haute-Savoie.
Taninges
- Date : October 11 and 12, 2025
- Location : Taninges Festival Hall
- Description : Ski fair, clothing, equipment and winter sports accessories organized by the Taninges Alpine Ski Club – Praz de Lys.
- Drop-off: Saturday from 8am to 6pm

- Description : The Annecy Ski Club organizes its traditional ski fair at the end of October 2025 at the Boulodrome in Annecy. This fair offers used equipment in very good condition. It is ideal for small budgets and those looking to renew their gear. Equipment drop-off (€2 per item) will be Saturday morning, from 8am to 12:30pm. The sale will take place from 1:30pm to 7pm on Saturday and from 9am to 4pm on Sunday. Unsold items can be picked up from 5pm until 6:30pm on Sunday.

- Arrive early : The best deals go quickly, especially on high-end equipment or children’s gear.
- Know your needs : It is helpful to have a clear idea of the type of equipment you are looking for (size, skill level, etc.).
- Try the equipment : If possible, make sure that the boots or skis you buy are well adapted to your needs and your body shape.
