Saint-André Fair of Annecy

Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. will host the traditional Saint-André Fair with its 1100 merchants and its 5.5 km of stalls. This fair, boasting 5 centuries of existence, will once again attract tens of thousands of shoppers this year looking for good deals.

Since the Middle Ages, the Saint-André fair has been held in Annecy. Every year, on the first Tuesday of December, hundreds of merchants arrive from all over Haute-Savoie, and even further, to sell their various products. Originally, these fairs offered mountain inhabitants and those from remote places the opportunity to sell their production and to stock up on various goods and utensils. Agricultural equipment was also found there, and livestock dealers displayed their animals to get the best price.

Nowadays things have changed a lot but the Saint-André Fair remains for the people of Annecy and Haute-Savoie an opportunity to make more or less good deals, but above all to immerse themselves in a festive atmosphere, and to enjoy regional specialties (with melted cheese of course). This popular event gathers more than a thousand stands throughout the city and attracts on average more than 80,000 visitors each year.

As every year, the Saint-André fair is accompanied by Annecy’s Christmas market and the Saint-André funfair, which takes place for two weeks on the Romains car park. All these activities will immerse you in a magical atmosphere for the year-end celebrations.
