Chamonix Guides Festival

As every year, the Chamonix Guides Festival will take place on August 15, 2012.
A key moment of the Chamoniard season, this festival brings together the high mountain guides of Chamonix who present their traditional ceremony, followed by many activities and a show created and performed by themselves.

In the program for this year 2012 :

  • 8:30 to 12:00: Parade then traditional ceremony on the church forecourt and exhibitor stands (crystal workers, crafts…) on the Place du Triangle de l’Amitié.
  • 15:00: Opening of the Gaillands site in Chamonix
    Entry only €13 (from 12 years old, free access for those under 12) or Entry + Main Course + Drink Package: €20
  • 15:00 to 18:00: Accro-park, zip line and slackline (€2 per workshop, from 110 cm – slackline access free)
  • 16:00 to 20:00: Exhibition and sale of photos by David RAVANEL (guide and photographer)
  • 18:00 to 18:30: Helicopter rescue demonstration by the PGHM of Chamonix
  • 18:30 to 18:45: Paragliding show with Baptiste ROUSSET (2010 French Acrobatics Paragliding Champion)
  • 18:45 to 19:45: Discussions about the guide profession and passion for the mountains with Christophe PROFIT (winter trilogy of the 3 great northern alpine faces: Grandes Jorasses, Eiger and Matterhorn) and Yannick GRAZIANI (Himalayan expedition specialist)
  • 20:00 to 21:20: Aperitif concert with the group “Swing Vals et Tralala” (Gypsy Jazz/Swing/French Songs)
  • 21:30: Sound and Light show created and performed by the guides of our Company…
  • 22:30: Fireworks
  • 23:00 until much later: “Charlotte Band” (Funk/Soul/Reggae Concert)

Sales, refreshment stand and catering (tartiflette, BBQ…) are done for the benefit of the Relief Fund.
