This dizzying footbridge in the heart of the Alps will offer you an unforgettable panorama

There are places that give you vertigo, but above all, wings. Suspended more than 60 meters high, this footbridge gives the impression of walking on air, facing one of the most beautiful panoramas in Europe: the Mont-Blanc massif. Here, the Alps reveal themselves in their purest majesty, and every step on the metal deck echoes like an invitation to wonder.

150 meters long, this “Himalayan” type footbridge literally propels you into a postcard setting. Below, the Nant Bordon winds through the forest, and around, nature envelops you in its majestic silence. The contrast between the steel structure and the softness of the Alpine landscape creates an unprecedented sensory experience, between adrenaline and contemplation.

Accessible after a pleasant hike from the Assy plateau starting point, it offers a family-friendly loop, well-marked, punctuated with viewpoints and benches to enjoy the view. In clear weather, the luckiest may even spot the Aiguille du Midi and the eternal snows of Mont Blanc standing out against the azure sky.

A personal adventure suspended between sky and earth

I remember the first time I set foot on this footbridge. The wind was gently blowing through the cables, and the mountains seemed so close you could almost touch them. In the middle of the bridge, I stopped walking. The silence, the void beneath my feet, Mont-Blanc in front of me… I felt a strange peace, mixed with a pure thrill. This suspended moment will remain etched in my memory.

And this spectacular place…

…is located in Passy, Haute-Savoie. The Himalayan footbridge of Passy, also called the Nant Bordon footbridge, is a gem still little known to the general public. Easily accessible from the Assy plateau or the Lac Vert, it is a perfect getaway for mountain lovers, contemplative hikers, and the curious seeking gentle but intense sensations.
