What is this mysterious and exotic place, this must-visit location? « The Secret Garden » is located in the countryside on a 7000 m2 plot, near Annecy and Aix-les-Bains.
This site is the accomplishment of a gigantic work carried out by a daring couple « Nicole and Alain MOUNEN ». In 1980, they acquired a farm with many renovations aimed at installing and supporting their family there. At the time, Alain made furniture and Nicole, his wife, decorated them. Over time, Alain discovered a true passion for certain materials like lime mortar, wood, copper, and pebbles. He therefore learned to know them, to handle them, and to use them in his project. Supported by their three daughters, this deserving couple renovated, imagined, built, and decorated this old building.
Despite the magnitude of the task, their creation and motivation remain unwavering. « Nicole and Alain » invest themselves and gradually create refined and delicate universes. As the visit progresses, enchantment gives way to wonder. Indeed, the visitor moves forward, observes with shining eyes, and discovers a true corner of paradise. This magical place abounds with lounges, terraces, galleries, and ponds where the walker can stroll and even let their mind wander while enjoying a mint tea served at the covered pond.
The beauty of the place does not stop at the architecture; it also possesses an unsuspected variety of flowers in multiple colors and scents. The visitor can only be lulled by the enchanting fragrances of this haven of peace. It is to share the magic of this exceptional place with the greatest number that « Nicole and Alain MOUNEN » decided to open « their Secret Garden » to the public in 1994. It should be known that this site is a wonderful family adventure; indeed, children and grandchildren also participate in their own way in the renovations and magic of the place.
