Since its opening in 2020, Alta Lumina has become a must-do activity if you are on vacation in the Les Gets resort, or even in Haute-Savoie.
But what is Alta Lumina?
Alta Lumina is a sensory experience during an enchanted night walk
beyond the mountains, imagined and created by Moment Factory.
In the heart of the French Alps, in the village of Les Gets, you are invited to follow the footsteps of a music peddler and his hot air balloon, and to follow his incredible journey beyond the mountains.
An enchanted night walk
The adventure simply begins at nightfall, at the entrance to the Lac des Écoles forest. After a few quick tips, you will be free to stroll through this enchanted site on a one-kilometer route, and discover at your own pace the story of a music peddler who takes off in his hot air balloon to share his enchanted melodies.
An extraordinary experience
On an illuminated path about one kilometer long, get ready to live an experience full of emotions, where music can be seen, where light can be heard! Let yourself be captivated by this immersion into an imaginary world that will delight both young and old.

Alta Lumina is open all year round! There is no ticket office on site, so online booking is mandatory. To book, click here.
The Alta Lumina route being entirely outdoors, in the forest, on a marked and secured trail, but hilly, it is strongly recommended to wear sturdy shoes and to dress warmly, especially in winter). Please note that domestic animals are not allowed (the light and sound effects of the route may not be suitable for the sensitivity of animals and may trigger unpredictable reactions).
Hours vary depending on nightfall. When booking your tickets, you will be able to choose from the different available time slots depending on the period.
Entries are made progressively within 20 minutes following your booking time. The entire route takes on average 1 hour to enjoy the experience at your own pace.
Access is preferably by free shuttle (in winter and summer), as parking spaces near the entrance are limited. The shuttle departure points are located at:
- shuttle stop at station entrance – Perrières parking lot (Taninges side)
- shuttle stop in town center – Marché parking lot (Marais Parking)
Shuttles begin running 30 minutes before the first Alta Lumina session. The shuttle frequency at each stop is a maximum of 15 minutes. The journey takes approximately 10 minutes. Note that shuttles do not operate during the Spring and Autumn Alta Lumina openings.
