Survival Guide for Tourists in Haute-Savoie

A little humor to end the week, some small tips for your visit to Haute Savoie 😉

  • Never forget that you are not at home
  • Stop wearing Moon Boots with your jeans or football scarves when skiing
  • Always leave a tip, a few cents are sometimes enough to keep you alive
  • Comparing ski lifts to the metro can cost you dearly
  • Never say “In Paris, it’s cheaper”
  • Never hook up in clubs, just stick to dancing
  • Even registered 74 (73), a rental car remains a rental car
  • Stop saying “Oh, how beautiful it is”, we know
  • Don’t embarrass yourself by talking about skiing
  • Don’t drive at 40 km/h on mountain roads, our roads are not dangerous, you just don’t know how to drive
  • Here the horn is only for saying hello. You don’t know anyone, don’t honk
  • You have no business at the counter, it’s reserved for us
  • Know that a Savoyard is never alone
  • Don’t hit on the residents of the resorts, even we can’t manage it
  • Never challenge us with stupid tests about our ability to hold alcohol. You lost
  • Finally, don’t forget that you are not at home everywhere, especially not with us.

A little clarification just in case, this is a caricature!
