In the heart of summer, the City of Annecy officially inaugurated on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 its very first inclusive beach, located on the shores of the Marquisats district. This project, made possible thanks to the participatory budget initiated by a citizen, was led by Jean-Louis Toé and supported by the municipality.
Free access and enhanced surveillance
The Marquisats beach, open for free from July 5 to August 31, 2025, is accessible according to the following hours:
- Monday & Tuesday: 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Wednesday to Sunday: 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Swimming is supervised every day, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., by lifeguards to ensure the safety of all visitors.
Facilities designed for everyone
Designed in partnership with Udapei 74, APF France Handicap, and AVH, the site offers:
- Safe pathway: an obstacle-free route from the parking lot to the water
- Sound beacons and “Audio Plage” totem to guide visually impaired people
- Accessible changing rooms and adapted restrooms
- Amphibious wheelchairs (Hippocampe and Tiralo) and hoist to facilitate entry into the water
- Interactive bracelets to quickly call for help
- Four seasonal agents specifically trained, present throughout the summer

To enhance your visit, the beach also offers:
- Showers, restrooms, and snack bar
- Clubs for sailing, canoe-kayak, and rowing nearby
- Bar / refreshment stand and shaded picnic area
- Easy access by bus and via the bicycle promenade
- Marquisats parking lot nearby
